Homonym: Mars (God)
Mars, often referred to as the 'Red Planet' due to its reddish appearance, is the fourth planet from the Sun in our solar system. It has a thin atmosphere composed mostly of carbon dioxide and features the largest volcano, Olympus Mons, and the deepest canyon, Valles Marineris, known in the solar system.
Mars has been a focal point for exploration, with numerous missions from various space agencies, including NASA and ESA. Scientists are particularly interested in Mars because of evidence suggesting it once had liquid water, raising the possibility of past life on the planet.
