Ryugu
Ryugu is a near-Earth asteroid located about 300 million kilometers from Earth. It is classified as a carbonaceous asteroid, which means it contains a significant amount of carbon and other organic materials. Ryugu has a diamond-like shape and measures approximately 1 kilometer in diameter.
In 2018, the Hayabusa2 spacecraft, launched by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), arrived at Ryugu to study its surface and collect samples. The mission aimed to understand the asteroid's composition and the origins of water and organic materials in the solar system. In 2019, Hayabusa2 successfully collected samples from Ryugu and is expected to return them to Earth in 2020.
