Hayabusa2
Hayabusa2 is a Japanese spacecraft launched by JAXA in December 2014. Its primary mission was to collect samples from the asteroid Ryugu and return them to Earth. The spacecraft successfully arrived at Ryugu in June 2018 and conducted several operations, including deploying small landers and performing touch-and-go sample collection.
In December 2020, Hayabusa2 returned to Earth, landing in the Australian outback. The mission provided valuable insights into the early solar system and the building blocks of life. The samples collected are being studied to enhance our understanding of asteroids and their role in planetary formation.
