Russian Oblasts
Russian oblasts are administrative regions in the Russian Federation, similar to provinces or states in other countries. There are 85 oblasts in total, each governed by a local administration and having its own unique cultural and geographical characteristics. They play a crucial role in the organization of the country's governance and local economy.
Each oblast is further divided into districts, known as raions, which help manage local affairs. The largest oblast by area is Irkutsk Oblast, while Moscow Oblast surrounds the capital city of Moscow. These regions contribute to the diverse landscape and population of Russia, reflecting its vast size and cultural richness.
