Krai
A "Krai" is a type of federal subject in the Russian Federation, similar to a territory or region. There are 85 federal subjects in Russia, and Krais are one of the main categories, alongside oblasts (provinces) and republics. Each Krai has its own administrative center and government, which manage local affairs while adhering to federal laws.
Krais are often located in less populated or more remote areas of Russia, and they can encompass vast territories with diverse landscapes. For example, the Primorsky Krai is known for its coastal areas along the Sea of Japan, while the Krasnoyarsk Krai features extensive forests and mountains.
