Rubin Observatory
The Rubin Observatory, officially known as the Vera C. Rubin Observatory, is a large astronomical facility located in Chile. It is designed to conduct a ten-year survey of the night sky, capturing images of millions of celestial objects. The observatory features a powerful telescope with a wide field of view, allowing it to monitor changes in the universe over time.
The primary mission of the Rubin Observatory is to create a comprehensive digital map of the sky, known as the Legacy Survey of Space and Time (LSST). This survey will help astronomers study various phenomena, including dark matter, dark energy, and transient events like supernovae and asteroids.
