LSST
The Large Synoptic Survey Telescope (LSST) is a ground-based observatory located in Chile. It is designed to conduct a ten-year survey of the sky, capturing images of the entire visible universe every few nights. The telescope will produce a vast amount of data, helping astronomers study various cosmic phenomena, including supernovae, asteroids, and the structure of dark matter.
LSST features an innovative wide-field camera that can capture detailed images of large areas of the sky simultaneously. This capability allows scientists to monitor changes in celestial objects over time, contributing to our understanding of the universe's evolution and the dynamics of galaxies.
