Rosetta
Rosetta is a space mission launched by the European Space Agency (ESA) in 2004. Its primary goal was to study the comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko, providing valuable insights into the early solar system. The spacecraft traveled over 6 billion kilometers, entering orbit around the comet in 2014.
One of the mission's significant achievements was deploying the Philae lander, which made the first-ever soft landing on a comet's surface in November 2014. Rosetta collected data on the comet's composition, structure, and activity, enhancing our understanding of comets and their role in the formation of planets.
