Roro Jonggrang
Roro Jonggrang is a character from Javanese folklore, particularly associated with the Prambanan Temple in Indonesia. She is known as a beautiful princess who was turned into a stone statue by the god Shiva as a punishment for rejecting the advances of a suitor, the giant Bandung Bondowoso.
The legend tells that Bandung Bondowoso, after building a thousand temples in one night to win her love, was deceived by Roro Jonggrang. She tricked him into believing she had completed the task by asking for the sunrise to come early, leading to his failure and her transformation into stone.
