Roman pantheon
The Roman pantheon refers to the collection of gods and goddesses worshipped in ancient Rome. These deities were believed to influence various aspects of life, such as agriculture, war, and love. Major gods included Jupiter, the king of the gods; Juno, his wife and goddess of marriage; and Mars, the god of war.
The Romans often adopted and adapted gods from other cultures, particularly the Greeks. For example, the Greek god Zeus became Jupiter in Roman mythology. Temples and rituals were central to worship, reflecting the importance of religion in Roman society.
