Roman Judea
Roman Judea was a province of the Roman Empire from 6 CE to 135 CE. It was located in the region of Judea, which includes parts of modern-day Israel and Palestine. The area was known for its diverse population, including Jews, Samaritans, and various Hellenistic communities. The Roman administration imposed taxes and maintained order, often leading to tensions with the local population.
The province was marked by significant events, including the life of Jesus Christ and the subsequent rise of early Christianity. The Jewish population experienced unrest, culminating in the Jewish-Roman Wars, which ultimately led to the destruction of the Second Temple in 70 CE.
