Roll Back Malaria
Roll Back Malaria is a global initiative launched in 1998 aimed at reducing the burden of malaria, a life-threatening disease caused by parasites transmitted through the bites of infected Anopheles mosquitoes. The program focuses on increasing access to prevention, diagnosis, and treatment, particularly in high-risk regions of Africa, where malaria is most prevalent.
The initiative brings together various partners, including governments, non-governmental organizations, and international agencies like the World Health Organization (WHO). By promoting the use of insecticide-treated bed nets, indoor spraying, and effective medications, Roll Back Malaria seeks to save lives and improve health outcomes for millions affected by this disease.
