Robert II
Robert II was the first monarch of the House of Stuart and ruled as King of Scotland from 1371 until his death in 1390. He was the son of Robert I, known as Robert the Bruce, who led Scotland during the Wars of Scottish Independence. Robert II's reign was marked by internal conflicts and struggles for power among the Scottish nobility.
During his rule, Robert II faced challenges in maintaining stability in Scotland. He was known for his attempts to strengthen royal authority and manage the feudal lords. His reign laid the groundwork for the future development of the Scottish monarchy and the eventual rise of the Stuart dynasty.
