River Guadalquivir
The River Guadalquivir is one of the major rivers in southern Spain, flowing through the region of Andalusia. It stretches approximately 657 kilometers (409 miles) and is known for its historical significance, particularly in the city of Seville, where it has played a vital role in trade and transportation.
The river originates in the Sierra de Cazorla mountains and eventually empties into the Gulf of Cádiz. The Guadalquivir is navigable for a significant distance, allowing ships to reach Seville, which has contributed to the city's development as a cultural and economic center throughout history.
