Rioja wine
Rioja wine is a renowned red wine from the Rioja region in northern Spain. It is primarily made from the Tempranillo grape, often blended with other varieties like Garnacha and Graciano. The wine is known for its rich flavors, which can include notes of cherry, plum, and vanilla, often enhanced by aging in oak barrels.
The Rioja region is divided into three sub-regions: Rioja Alta, Rioja Baja, and Rioja Alavesa. Each area contributes unique characteristics to the wine. Rioja wine is classified into four categories based on aging: Joven, Crianza, Reserva, and Gran Reserva, indicating the length of time the wine has matured before release.
