Richard de la Pole
Richard de la Pole was an English nobleman and a claimant to the English throne during the late 15th century. He was born around 1480 and was a member of the House of York, which was involved in the Wars of the Roses, a series of civil wars for control of the English throne. After the defeat of the Yorkists, he fled to France and later sought support from Margaret of Burgundy, who was a key figure in the Yorkist cause.
De la Pole's claim to the throne was based on his lineage, as he was a descendant of Edward IV. He attempted to rally support for a Yorkist uprising against the ruling Tudor dynasty, particularly during the reign of Henry VII. However, his efforts were largely unsuccessful, and he was eventually killed in battle in 1525, marking the end of significant Yorkist claims to the English throne.
