A "Request for Comments" (RFC) is a type of publication used to develop and share information about protocols, procedures, and standards related to the internet and networking. Created by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF), RFCs serve as a way for experts to propose ideas, gather feedback, and reach consensus on technical matters.
Each RFC is assigned a unique number and can cover a wide range of topics, from technical specifications to best practices. While some RFCs become official standards, others may simply document existing practices or provide informational content for the community.
