Regions of Slovakia
Slovakia is divided into eight administrative regions, known as kraje. These regions include Bratislava, Trnava, Nitra, Trenčín, Žilina, Prešov, Košice, and Banská Bystrica. Each region has its own unique cultural and historical significance, contributing to the diverse identity of the country.
The Bratislava region, home to the capital city, is the most urbanized, while the Prešov and Košice regions are known for their natural beauty and mountainous landscapes. The Nitra region is famous for its agricultural production, and Banská Bystrica is rich in mining history.
