Regions of Ethiopia
Ethiopia is divided into several regions, each with its own unique culture and geography. The main regions include Oromia, Amhara, Tigray, Afar, Somali, Benishangul-Gumuz, Gambela, Harari, and Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples' Region (SNNPR). The capital city, Addis Ababa, is located in the Oromia region and serves as the political and economic center of the country.
Each region has distinct ethnic groups and languages. For example, Amhara is known for its rich history and the Amharic language, while Somali is predominantly inhabited by the Somali ethnic group. The diverse landscapes range from highlands to lowlands, contributing to Ethiopia's varied climate and agriculture.
