Regalecidae
Regalecidae, commonly known as oarfish, are a family of elongated, deep-sea fish characterized by their ribbon-like bodies and long dorsal fins. They can grow up to 36 feet (11 meters) in length, making them one of the longest fish species. Oarfish are typically found in deep ocean waters, often at depths of 200 to 1,000 meters.
These fish are rarely seen by humans, as they inhabit deep-sea environments. Oarfish are known for their striking appearance, with shiny, silvery scales and a long, slender shape. They primarily feed on small fish and plankton, using their long bodies to navigate through the water.
