Raziya Sultana
Raziya Sultana was the first female ruler of the Delhi Sultanate in India, reigning from 1236 to 1240. She was the daughter of Iltutmish, a prominent Sultan, and was known for her intelligence and leadership skills. Raziya broke gender norms of her time by taking on the responsibilities typically reserved for male rulers.
Her reign was marked by efforts to promote justice and equality, as well as to strengthen the administration. Despite her capabilities, Raziya faced opposition from nobles and ultimately lost her throne. She remains a significant figure in Indian history for challenging societal norms and paving the way for future female leaders.
