Rangjung Rigpe Dorje
Rangjung Rigpe Dorje is a significant figure in Tibetan Buddhism, known as the 16th Karmapa. He was born in 1924 in Tibet and recognized as the reincarnation of the 15th Karmapa at a young age. He played a crucial role in the spread of Tibetan Buddhism in the West and was instrumental in establishing many monasteries and centers.
The 16th Karmapa was also known for his teachings on compassion and the importance of meditation. He escaped to India in 1959 after the Chinese invasion of Tibet and continued his work, promoting the Kagyu school of Tibetan Buddhism. He passed away in 1981, leaving a lasting legacy.
