Raja Sabha
The Rajya Sabha is the upper house of the Parliament of India, responsible for representing the states and union territories. It consists of members who are elected by the elected members of the state legislative assemblies, as well as those nominated by the President of India for their expertise in specific fields. The total membership is capped at 250, with 12 nominated members.
Members of the Rajya Sabha serve staggered six-year terms, ensuring continuity within the house. It plays a crucial role in the legislative process, reviewing and amending bills proposed by the lower house, known as the Lok Sabha. The Rajya Sabha also has the power to influence policies and represent regional interests.
