RAF Ballykelly
RAF Ballykelly is a former Royal Air Force station located in County Londonderry, Northern Ireland. Established in 1941, it played a significant role during World War II and the Cold War, primarily serving as a base for maritime patrol aircraft. The station was known for its strategic importance in monitoring the Atlantic Ocean and supporting anti-submarine operations.
After its closure in 2000, RAF Ballykelly was repurposed for civilian use, including the development of a business park. The site remains a notable part of Northern Ireland's military history, reflecting the region's involvement in global conflicts and its transition to peacetime activities.
