Quraish
The Quraish was a powerful and influential tribe in the Arabian Peninsula during the time of the Prophet Muhammad. They were known for their control over the Kaaba, a sacred site in Mecca, which made them economically prosperous due to the pilgrimage trade. The tribe played a significant role in the early history of Islam, both as protectors and later as opponents of the new faith.
The Quraish were divided into several clans, with notable families such as the Banu Hashim, to which the Prophet Muhammad belonged. Initially, the tribe resisted the teachings of Islam, leading to conflicts with the early Muslim community. However, over time, many members of the Quraish eventually accepted Islam, contributing to its spread across the Arabian Peninsula.
