Quirinus
Quirinus was an ancient Roman god associated with war and the protection of the state. He was often considered a guardian of the Roman people and was linked to the founding of Rome. Quirinus was sometimes identified with the god Mars, the Roman god of war, but he had distinct characteristics and a unique cult.
Worship of Quirinus included rituals and festivals, particularly the Quirinalia, celebrated on February 17. His temple was located on the Quirinal Hill, one of the seven hills of Rome. Quirinus was also associated with the Sabines, an ancient people who played a significant role in early Roman history.
