Queen of Italy
The title "Queen of Italy" refers to the female monarch of the Kingdom of Italy, which existed from 1861 until 1946. The last queen was Queen Elena, who was married to King Vittorio Emanuele III. The monarchy was abolished in 1946, leading to the establishment of the Italian Republic.
During its existence, the role of the queen was largely ceremonial, with limited political power. The queens often participated in social and charitable activities, representing the royal family at various events. After the monarchy's dissolution, the royal family went into exile, and the title of queen became obsolete.
