Queen Sālote Tupou I
Queen Sālote Tupou I was the first queen regnant of the Kingdom of Tonga, reigning from 1918 until her death in 1965. She was born on March 4, 1900, and was the daughter of King George Tupou II. Her reign is noted for its efforts to modernize the kingdom and strengthen its international relations.
