Queen Caroline Mathilde
Queen Caroline Mathilde was born on July 22, 1751, in London, England. She was the daughter of King George III and Queen Charlotte. In 1766, she married King Christian VII of Denmark and became queen consort. Her marriage was troubled, and she often faced political challenges during her time as queen.
Caroline Mathilde is known for her involvement in the cultural and political life of Denmark. She supported the arts and education, and her court became a center for Enlightenment ideas. After her husband's mental illness led to a power struggle, she was eventually exiled from Denmark in 1772.
