Queen Astrid of Belgium
Queen Astrid of Belgium was born on November 5, 1905, in Sweden as the daughter of Prince Carl of Sweden and Princess Ingeborg. She became the Queen of the Belgians when she married King Leopold III in 1926. Known for her grace and compassion, she played a significant role in social welfare and cultural activities in Belgium.
Tragically, Queen Astrid's life was cut short when she died in a car accident on August 29, 1935, at the age of 29. Her legacy continues through her children, including King Baudouin and King Albert II, who have contributed to the Belgian monarchy.
