Pyramus and Thisbe
"Pyramus and Thisbe" is a tragic love story from ancient Rome, often attributed to the poet Ovid. The tale revolves around two young lovers, Pyramus and Thisbe, who live next door to each other but are forbidden to meet due to their families' feud. They communicate through a crack in the wall separating their homes and eventually decide to elope.
To escape their families, they plan to meet near a mulberry tree. However, a misunderstanding leads Pyramus to believe that Thisbe has been killed by a lion. In despair, he takes his own life. When Thisbe finds him dead, she also takes her life, leading to a tragic ending for both lovers.
