Thisbe
Thisbe is a character from ancient mythology, specifically from the story of "Pyramus and Thisbe," which is found in Ovid's "Metamorphoses." She is known for her tragic love story, where she falls in love with Pyramus, her neighbor. Their families disapprove of their relationship, leading them to communicate secretly through a crack in the wall that separates their homes.
The tale takes a sorrowful turn when Thisbe flees to meet Pyramus but encounters a lioness, causing her to drop her veil. When Pyramus finds the veil and believes Thisbe is dead, he takes his own life. Thisbe, upon discovering his fate, follows suit, making their story a poignant example of doomed love.
