Pyramid of Unas
The Pyramid of Unas is an ancient Egyptian pyramid located at Saqqara, built during the Fifth Dynasty around 2350 BCE. It is the final resting place of Pharaoh Unas, who was the first ruler to have pyramid texts inscribed within his burial chamber. These texts are significant as they provide insights into ancient Egyptian beliefs about the afterlife.
The pyramid itself is relatively small compared to later pyramids, standing at about 43 meters tall. It features a complex of mortuary temples and is surrounded by smaller tombs for nobles. The Pyramid of Unas marks an important development in pyramid construction and religious practices in ancient Egypt.
