Pyramid of Amenemhat II
The Pyramid of Amenemhat II is a significant ancient Egyptian structure located in Dahshur. Built during the Middle Kingdom, it served as the burial site for Pharaoh Amenemhat II, who ruled from around 1929 to 1895 BCE. The pyramid originally stood about 43 meters tall and was constructed using limestone and mudbrick.
This pyramid is part of a larger complex that includes a mortuary temple and several smaller pyramids for royal family members. Although it has suffered from erosion and looting over the centuries, the Pyramid of Amenemhat II remains an important example of ancient Egyptian architecture and burial practices.
