Push-Pull Model
The Push-Pull Model is a framework used to explain migration patterns. It identifies factors that drive people away from their home country, known as "push" factors, and those that attract them to a new location, called "pull" factors. Push factors can include economic hardship, political instability, or environmental issues, while pull factors often involve better job opportunities, safety, or improved living conditions.
This model helps researchers and policymakers understand why individuals or groups choose to relocate. By analyzing the balance between push and pull factors, they can develop strategies to address the root causes of migration and improve conditions in both sending and receiving countries.
