Pulaya
The Pulaya are a marginalized community primarily found in the southern Indian state of Kerala. Traditionally, they have been associated with agricultural labor and manual work. Historically, they faced social discrimination and were often relegated to the lowest strata of the caste system, which affected their access to education and economic opportunities.
In contemporary society, efforts have been made to uplift the Pulaya community through various government initiatives and social programs. These initiatives aim to improve their living conditions, promote education, and provide employment opportunities, helping to integrate them more fully into mainstream society.
