Puente de la Mujer
The Puente de la Mujer is a striking pedestrian bridge located in the Puerto Madero district of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Designed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava, it was inaugurated in 2001. The bridge features a unique, asymmetrical design that resembles a dancer's arm, symbolizing the tango, a dance that originated in Argentina.
Spanning the Docks of Puerto Madero, the bridge connects the neighborhoods of Puerto Madero and San Telmo. It is 170 meters long and is made of steel and concrete. The bridge rotates to allow boats to pass, making it both a functional and artistic landmark in the city.
