Project 941
Project 941, also known as the Dmitriy Donskoy, was a Soviet-era military project that developed a class of nuclear-powered submarines. These submarines were designed to carry and launch intercontinental ballistic missiles, enhancing the Soviet Union's strategic military capabilities during the Cold War.
The Dmitriy Donskoy is notable for being the largest submarine ever built, measuring over 175 meters in length. It was launched in 1980 and served as a prototype for the Typhoon-class submarines, which were intended to provide a powerful deterrent against potential adversaries.
