Principality of Reuss
The Principality of Reuss was a small German state located in the region of Thuringia. It existed from the 12th century until the end of World War I in 1918. The principality was divided into two main branches: the Reuss Elder Line and the Reuss Younger Line, each ruled by different branches of the House of Reuss.
The principality was known for its picturesque landscapes and small towns, including the capital, Gera. It played a minor role in German politics but was part of the German Confederation and later the German Empire. After the war, it became part of the newly formed Weimar Republic.
