Principality of Reuss Elder Line
The Principality of Reuss Elder Line was a historical territory in what is now Germany. It was part of the larger region known as the Thuringian States and existed from the 12th century until the early 20th century. The principality was ruled by the House of Reuss, a noble family that had several branches, with the Elder Line being one of the most prominent.
In 1918, following the end of World War I, the principality was dissolved, and the monarchy was abolished. The territory then became part of the newly formed Free State of Thuringia. Today, the legacy of the Reuss Elder Line is remembered through various historical sites and cultural references in the region.
