Principality of Capua
The Principality of Capua was a historical state in southern Italy, established in the early Middle Ages. It emerged around the 9th century and was centered in the city of Capua, which became an important political and cultural hub. The principality was known for its strategic location and played a significant role in the power struggles of the region.
Throughout its history, the principality experienced various changes in leadership and territorial control, often influenced by larger powers such as the Normans and the Holy Roman Empire. By the late 12th century, the principality gradually lost its independence and was absorbed into the Kingdom of Sicily.
