Princess Wilhelmine of Baden was born on December 7, 1788, in Karlsruhe, Germany. She was a member of the House of Zähringen and the daughter of Charles Frederick, Grand Duke of Baden and Louise of Baden. Wilhelmine became known for her beauty and intelligence, and she played a significant role in the cultural life of her time. In 1806, she married Prince Wilhelm of Prussia, who later became King Wilhelm I of Prussia. Their union strengthened ties between the Grand Duchy of Baden and the Kingdom of Prussia. Wilhelmine was involved in various charitable activities and was a patron of the arts until her death on February 27, 1836.
