Princess Sophia of Nassau was born on July 14, 1836, in Nassau, Germany. She was the daughter of Adolphus, Duke of Nassau and Princess Adelheid of Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rosenberg. In 1857, she married Prince Wilhelm of Prussia, who later became Emperor Wilhelm I of Germany. Together, they had several children, contributing to the lineage of European royalty.
