Princess Helena of Waldeck and Pyrmont was born on May 17, 1861, in {Arolsen}, {Germany}. She was a member of the {Waldeck and Pyrmont} royal family and the daughter of {George Victor, Prince of Waldeck and Pyrmont} and {Princess Helena of Nassau}. In 1885, she married {Prince Leopold, Duke of Albany}, the second son of {Queen Victoria} and {Prince Albert}. Helena became known for her charitable work and support of various social causes, particularly in the fields of education and health. She passed away on November 1, 1922.
