Princess Charlotte of Saxe-Meiningen was born on December 17, 1792, in Meiningen, Germany. She was a member of the Saxe-Meiningen ducal family and the daughter of Duke Bernhard I of Saxe-Meiningen and Princess Charlotte of Hohenlohe-Ingelfingen. In 1816, she married Prince Edward of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach, becoming the Duchess of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach.
