Prince Pedro I of Brazil
Prince Pedro I of Brazil was born on October 12, 1798, in Lisbon, Portugal. He was the son of King John VI of Portugal and became the first Emperor of Brazil after declaring independence from Portugal in 1822. His leadership was crucial in establishing Brazil as a sovereign nation.
Pedro I ruled until 1831 when he abdicated the throne in favor of his son, Pedro II of Brazil. He returned to Portugal, where he became involved in political affairs. Pedro I is remembered for his role in Brazil's independence and his efforts to modernize the country during his reign.
