Prince Mihailo
Prince Mihailo, also known as Mihailo Obrenović, was a significant figure in Serbian history during the 19th century. He was born in 1823 and became the Prince of Serbia in 1839, ruling until 1842 and then again from 1860 until his assassination in 1868. His reign is noted for efforts to modernize Serbia and strengthen its independence from the Ottoman Empire.
Mihailo was a member of the Obrenović dynasty, which played a crucial role in Serbia's struggle for autonomy. He is remembered for promoting education, infrastructure, and legal reforms, as well as fostering relationships with European powers. His legacy continues to influence Serbian national identity today.
