Prince Leopold of Anhalt-Cöthen
Prince Leopold of Anhalt-Cöthen (1694-1728) was a German nobleman and a member of the House of Anhalt. He ruled the principality of Anhalt-Cöthen from 1722 until his death, focusing on the development of his territory and promoting the arts and education.
Leopold is also known for his patronage of the composer Johann Sebastian Bach, who served as the court musician in Cöthen. During this time, Bach composed several significant works, including the Brandenburg Concertos and the Well-Tempered Clavier, which contributed to the cultural legacy of the region.
