Anhalt-Cöthen
Anhalt-Cöthen was a principality in the Holy Roman Empire, located in what is now Germany. It emerged in the early 17th century and was part of the larger region of Anhalt. The capital city, Cöthen, served as the political and cultural center of the principality.
The principality is notable for its connection to the composer Johann Sebastian Bach, who worked there from 1717 to 1723. During his time in Cöthen, Bach composed many significant works, including the Brandenburg Concertos. Anhalt-Cöthen existed until the early 19th century when it became part of the Kingdom of Prussia.
