Prince Ferdinand of the Two Sicilies
Prince Ferdinand of the Two Sicilies was a member of the royal family of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies, which existed from 1816 until 1861. Born in 1810, he was the son of King Francis I of the Two Sicilies and his wife, Maria Isabel of Spain. The kingdom was located in southern Italy and included both Sicily and the southern mainland.
Ferdinand held the title of Duke of Calabria and was known for his involvement in the political affairs of his time. The Kingdom of the Two Sicilies faced significant challenges, including social unrest and the unification of Italy, which ultimately led to its dissolution in 1861.
